Hope, Safety, and a Future for Girls in Hyderabad
The Girls’ Shelter at Chaithanya Mahila Mandali (CMM) in Hyderabad is a safe haven for the daughters of prostitutes and other at-risk girls. Many of them have grown up in tough conditions, facing poverty, violence, and little to no opportunities for a better life.
At the shelter, they don’t just get a roof over their heads—they get a chance to learn, grow, and build a future. They have access to education, hands-on skills, and job training to help them become independent and break free from the cycle of poverty.
We focus on boosting their confidence and giving them real career opportunities through:
- School and tutoring to help them catch up on education
- Sewing and computer skills so they can earn a living
- Yoga, meditation, and resilience training to help them heal and grow stronger
Our new shelter is in a quiet, peaceful area, giving the girls the space they need to rest, recover, and start dreaming about a better future.
Direct Beneficiaries
Around 80 girls and young women who come from extremely difficult backgrounds and are in urgent need of safety, education, and job opportunities to build a better future.
Project Measures
A key part of our initiative is the Greenery Project, which transforms the shelter campus into a vibrant and supportive environment. In partnership with United VARs, we’ve designed a beautiful and functional outdoor space that not only ensures safety but also offers new opportunities for personal growth.
The Greenery Project includes:
- Landscaping – A sustainable, eco-friendly outdoor area with native plants, walking paths, seating spaces, and green zones for relaxation and recreation.
- Outdoor Gym – A dedicated training area with age-appropriate exercise equipment to promote physical health and well-being.
- Garden Lighting – Energy-efficient lighting that keeps the campus safe and welcoming during evening hours.
This project was created with great care and attention to detail to enhance the well-being, security, and personal development of the girls.
Sustainability
- Long-term Security – The training provided enables the girls to achieve financial independence and build a stable future.
- Social Change – Through education and empowerment, we create new opportunities for the next generation.
- Sustainable Support – This is the sixth CSR project we have successfully implemented with United VARs, demonstrating a strong commitment to long-term impact.
- Environmental Responsibility – The Greenery Project uses sustainable materials such as natural soil, energy-efficient garden lighting, and water-saving technologies.
- Community Engagement – By involving the community and creating educational opportunities for environmentally conscious living, the project contributes to the long-term sustainable development of the entire campus.
