IMANI Children’s Home in Kenya

The IMANI Children’s Home is one of the most famous children’s homes here on the east coast of Kenya. We have heard that Imani wants to open another children home – one for handicapped orphans – in addition to the six existing ones. This is certainly a very special fate and undisputedly worthy of support.

We ourselves have a very special relationship with the sponsored run or sponsored walk, as we have built our fundraising tool, the “Fundriding Tours” according to this principle and we also carry out other sponsored runs together with schools in Germany. When we heard that IMANI wanted to raise a part of the money for the new children’s home through a sponsored run, we naturally wanted to know more. In addition, we still had about 50% of the 50 kg of used children’s clothes that friends had given us.

We decided to support the run kilometres with € 300,- and to donate the second half of the children’s clothes to the home.

Of course we did not miss the opportunity to visit the target of our support personally and to get an impression for the quality of the work on site. Having arrived there we (Nadine & Roland) were astonished. Never before have we visited such a well thought-out, lovingly decorated and child-friendly children’s home, at least in no developing country.

We are happy to leave the children’s clothes here and support the sponsored run for the new home with € 300,-. None of us doubt that the money will be spent accordingly.

Great work and 72 very happy children in this home alone.

We pay our respect.
